Mark your calendars now for a very special recital at the Fremont home of Dr. and Mrs. Eduardo Kneler on Sunday, August 18. The Second Prize winner of our recent Young Artist Competition, 19-year-old pianist Leyla Kabuli will perform a recital of both familiar and unusual works on the Knelers’ beautiful new Steinway grand.
Leyla’s resume is extraordinary. A Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarship student at UC Berkeley, she is pursuing a double major in Music and in Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences. Leyla has won numerous prestigious awards, including the Los Angeles Young Musician International Competition; performed on NPR’s From the Top and was invited to perform at their 2017 Gala; was featured in San Francisco’s Noontime Concerts as recipient of the Helen von Ammon Emerging Artist Award; and has soloed with the Sonoma Philharmonic, Waring Festival Orchestra, Nova Vista Symphony, Palo Alto Philharmonic, Soli Deo Gloria and many more.
