3/31 - There’s nothing that’s more romantic than a great love story, and we’re presenting some lush music that describes them in a passionate way. First, we’ll present Tchaikovsky’s moving masterpiece, Romeo and Juliet, one of the best-known love themes ever written. You’ve heard it the movies and television, and now you can hear it live performed by the Fremont Symphony.
Next, we have music from the modern version of that love story, the great musical, West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein. Finally, we are presenting the famous love theme from the film “Somewhere in Time” that starred Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymore. The film featured the beautiful 18th variation from the Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini by Sergei Rachmaninoff, and we’ll present the entire work that celebrates the solo piano in a virtuosic and spectacular way. This evening promises to be a real feast for the senses.
